Cyndie Stocks
Cyndie grew up in rural Appalachia as an only child. Cyndie always looked for something valuable to help her escape the inevitable boredom that comes from growing up in a rual setting. For this purpose, she used reading as an outlet to escape boredom, chores, and anything else she could get away with. Cyndie is a natural-born storyteller as she comes from a long line of natural-born storytellers. Her immense love for words arrived early. By the time she was in middle school, she started writing poetry and short stories. Art, stories, and literature runs in her veins with a score of stories waiting to be told, weaved together with ideas scattered to the wind like a dandelion on a hot summer day.
On the rare occasion when Cyndie does not indulge in writing, she can be found on her farm with her horses, her mini one-eared pig named Vinnie, and rescuing/fostering a variety of animals. All these things, just like writing, provide meaningful essence in Cyndie’s life. In addition, enjoys spending time with her family, writing, crafting, traveling, hiking, and kayaking.
The thrill and magic of writing come when one weaves together thoughts, stories, and words into one grand piece of literature. It is an ability that is quite rare and very hard to come by. However, Cyndie takes real-life experiences, urban legends, rumors, and whispers of a small town and weaves them into mesmerizing tales about life in Southern Appalachia. In this pursuit, Cyndie is excited to present her first published book, Letters From Home.
